Interior Designer, NCIDQ, ASID, CID, Associate SDSA
Christy Addis is a designer located in Los Angeles, with a background that includes residential/commercial interior design, historic renovation, set design and set decoration, graphic design, and teaching design.
Christy's design experience began in the art departments of New York's motion picture industry, where she worked for five years before setting her sights on Hollywood. There, she concentrated more deeply on set decoration, visually interpreting scripts to reflect the story and characters. One of the highlights was working with Johnny Depp in the indie film Arizona Dream.
She returned to her hometown in Virginia to raise her children, and continued to work behind the camera designing sets for television commercials. Needing to more fully immerse herself in the study of the built environment, she earned an MFA in Interior Architecture from Virginia Commonwealth University, to compliment her BFA in Graphic Design.
Having returned to Los Angeles, she is pursuing her passion for design. She strives to incorporate her love of fine art, art and design history, and textiles, into client-based solutions founded on integrity and authenticity. She has established her company, True Design, to provide design services and to develop products reflecting her design sensibility, and seeking additional opportunities.
